Abstract

L'invention concerne un système de mesure du niveau de glycémie dans un échantillon sanguin. Ce système comprend une bande diagnostique et un mètre. La bande diagnostique comprend une chambre d'échantillon, une électrode de travail, une contre-électrode, des électrodes de détection-remplissage et un conducteur « marche auto ». Une couche de réactif est disposée dans la chambre d'échantillon. Le conducteur « marche auto » déclenche le mètre qui réalise alors une séquence bande diagnostique lorsque la bande diagnostique est insérée dans le mètre. Le mètre utilise l'électrode de travail et la contre-électrode pour initialement détecter l'échantillon sanguin dans la chambre d'échantillon et il utilise les électrodes de détection-remplissage pour vérifier que l'échantillon sanguin est bien mélangé à la couche de réactif. Le mètre applique une tension d'essai entre l'électrode de travail et la contre-électrode et mesure le courant résultant. Le mètre calcule le niveau de glucose à partir du courant mesuré et des données d'étalonnage sauvegardées dans la mémoire à partir d'un dispositif de stockage de données amovible associé à la bande diagnostique.
