Abstract

Rear cover for a flat screen, such as a LCD screen, where the rear cover is made of a thin plate shaped in correspondence with the rear face of the flat screen, being adapted to easily be replaceably secured to the rear of the screen, the visible face of the cover having a surface according to the specific user's desire as to color, imprints etc.

Description

Rear cover for a flat screen
The present invention is related to a rear cover for a flat screen, such as a LCD screen.
Screens of the above mentioned type increasingly is used generally and specifically in so-called front office solutions where a flat screen is placed between the dispatch clerk and the customer. This solution may be found for example in banks as cash discount in commodity trades, in shops, at airports, in kiosks, news-stands, etc. It is an advantage to use such flat screens may of aluminium with protective glass in the front to be a good solution for public exposed environments.
According to the present invention, it is found that the rear of the screen may be used for different purposes. According to the invention the rear of the screen may be utilized dynamically which means that the surface facing the customer may be provided with a colour as desired based on different considerations such as the general colour in the facility, the background as seen by the customer etc. This is achieved with the cover according to the present invention as defined by the features stated in the claims.
The drawing discloses in figure 1 schematically a back cover to be slided on place on a flat screen and figure 2 discloses a back cover to be secured to a flat screen such as by grooves.
As disclosed in figure 1, a cover plate 3 can be slided downwardly in grooves in the frame 1 if the flat screen as such is provided with such grooves. The frame 2 is articulated to a socket 1 and may be adjusted to the most suitable position. Figure 2 discloses another embodiment of the invention where a cover plate 4 is provided for arrangement on the rear side of the frame 2 and secured to the frame 2 by for example screws 4.
The cover plate 3 may be of aluminium with a surface adapted for imprint. The plate 3 also may be an internal plastic plate or cardboard. In another embodiment a transparent outer plastic plate is covering an intermediate plate (not disclosed) and secured to an internal cardboard plate. The intermediate plate thereby disclosing an imprint. The plate 3 may disclose the desired colour or imprint, such as information or advertising prints, or in the last described embodiment, the intermediate plate may disclose such imprints. In this way the message printed on the rear side of the screen easily and in a simple way may be replaced by another advertisement or an updated information.
In a further embodiment of the back cover according to the present invention, the back cover as such may be a flat screen secured to the rear of the flat screen, where pictures, information and possibly movies may be displayed, controlled for example from the computer to which the screen is connected or elsewhere.

P a t e n t C l a i m s
1. Rear cover for a flat screen, such as a LCD screen, characterised in that the rear cover is made of a thin plate shaped in correspondence with the rear face of the flat screen, being adapted to easily be replaceably secured to the rear of the screen, the visible face of the cover having a surface according to the specific user's desire as to color, imprints etc.
2. Cover according to claim 1, characterised in that the cover plate (3) is an internal plastic plate or cardboard, an intermediate plate disclosing an imprint, and a transparent outer plastic plate covering the intermediate plate, the intermediate plate as well as transparent plate being secured to the internal plate.
3. Cover according to claim 1-2, characterised in that the cover plate (3) is made of aluminium with a surface adapted for imprint.

Cover according to claim 1, characterised in that the cover plate may comprise an internal plastic plate or cardboard, an intermediate plate disclosing the desired colour or imprint, such as information or advertising prints, and transparent outer plate, all secured to the flat screen 5. Cover according to claim 1. characterised in that the rear cover is a flat screen for display of pictures, information and movies.
