Definitions
- the invention refers to a mood analysing device for mammals that can be employed with any mammal, since users can implement multiple image and sound standards using the same device.
- noise sensors that are activated when babies cry, and other widely used articles that simply use a wireless microphone or sound emitter, which sends the sound of the baby's crying to a receiver that is usually in possession of a responsible adult.
- All the devices that are currently marketed present the inconvenient that they are activated by a single factor and, in any case, only indicate absolute values. For example, in the case of temperature, the device only indicates the degrees in the room where the detector is located.
- This device acts in any situation that implies an alteration of the conditions considered normal or usual in the baby's environment, and is able to act in cases of temperature, relative dampness, ambient noise, air velocity and ambient light.
- the device described in this patent is programmed on the basis of parameters that determine certain estimated tolerance values, thus when one or more of the conditions in the environment of the baby or the incapacitated person is altered or modified, the corresponding sensor activates the alert signal on the warning device, which is sent to the receiver in possession of a responsible adult.
- This device also incorporates a sensor that is activated by the sound of the baby' s crying or the groaning of an elderly person, which is programmed to identify different intervals, frequency and intensity of the crying or groaning, so as to interpret these parameters and determine the reason for the crying or groaning in terms of their characteristics.
- the analysing device of the invention manages to solve the aforementioned inconveniences, and presents other advantages that will be described hereunder.
- the mood analysing device for mammals of the invention comprises means that receive sound, means that process the received sound which are connected to a memory that stores preset parameters and alarm and/or visualisation means, thus implying that the sound is analysed via the processing means, which comprise a digital signalling processor that analyses the frequency, temporal and spatial parameters of the sound and compares them to preset parameters stored in the device's memory and activates the alarm and/or visualisation means indicating the mood of the mammal, characterised in that it also comprises means to receive images that are connected to said processing means, which also analyse the frequency, temporal and spatial parameters of the image, and also compare them to the preset parameters stored in the device's memory to determine the mood of the mammal.
- the processing means comprise a digital signalling processor that analyses the frequency, temporal and spatial parameters of the sound and compares them to preset parameters stored in the device's memory and activates the alarm and/or visualisation means indicating the mood of the mammal, characterised in that it also comprises means to receive images that are connected to said processing means
- the analysis of the images is based on the spatial correlation between the images and the clustering (comparison with standards) ;
- the frequency and temporal parameters of the sound analysed by the digital signalling processor include the frequency, intensity, shape of the envelope, repetition rhythm, content of the energy, duration of the pulse, wave form, magnitude, autocorrelation and zero crossing density.
- said alarm and/or visualisation means are accommodated in a portable and/or remote receiver linked to another receiver via radio frequency or mobile telephony and/or the Internet, which will be in possession of a responsible person.
- the analysing device of the invention it is possible to determine the moods of any mammal.
- farm mammals cows, sheep, etc.
- zoo mammals Simians, felines, herbivores, pachyderms, etc.
- marine mammals cetaceans, etc.
- pet mammals cats, dogs, etc.
- incapacitated persons babies and elderly persons.
- the moods the device can detect are, for example, anger, hunger, sleepiness, boredom, pain, stress and others .
- said memory is interchangeable and ever transferable remotely, thus, depending on the mammal with which the device of the invention is used, it will be necessary to insert the appropriate memory card and/or connect to a database.
- the analysing device of the invention can also comprise means to confirm the detected mood.
- said confirmation means comprise at least one micro-camera and a couple of buttons, one for affirmative and one for negative responses, so that the answer to a series of questions indicated on the visualisations means via said buttons will or will not confirm the detected mood.
- Said confirmation means can also comprise an indecisiveness button, for cases in which the user does not know what to answer to the question that appears on the visualisation means.
- Figure 1 is a block diagram representing the components of the analysing device of the invention.
- figure 2 is a schematic view of the confirmation means that are part of the analysing device of the invention.
- the analysing device of the invention comprises a camera 13 and a microphone 1 that are connected to a digital signalling processor 2 by means of an analog-to-digital converter ⁇ and a filter 5, which is equipped with an amplifier.
- the digital signalling processor 2 is also connected to a memory 3 and an alarm and visualisation element 4 as well as remote emission means 15 that send the data resulting from the analysis.
- the use of the analysing device of the invention is as follows:
- the user must indicate the mammal with which the analysing device of the invention is to be used.
- This indication can be performed using different methods, such as for example, by downloading software or inputting a memory card 3 (figure 2) in the device.
- the signal generated by these elements is filtered and amplified in the filter 5 and in the amplifier respectively.
- Said analogical signal is converted into a digital signal by means of the converter 6.
- the digital signal is processed by the digital signalling processor 2 by means of the corresponding software, assigning different values to the different frequency, temporal and spatial parameters of the image and frequency and temporal parameters of the sound which are analysed.
- said parameters can be extremely diverse and depend greatly on the mammal to be analysed, but as a non-limitative example, these parameters could be frequency, intensity, shape of the envelope, repetition rhythm, content of the energy, duration of the pulse, wave form, magnitude, autocorrelation and zero crossing density, etc.
- the values obtained are compared to the values previously preset into the interchangeable memory 3, so that said comparison and the combination of results can determine the mammal's mood.
- the information can be visualised on the alarm and/or visualisation means 4 and the results will be transmitted, if so required, by the remote emission means 15.
- the remote emission means 15 There are a series of different ways to represent said information, such as for example, the emission of an acoustic, visual, luminous and/or remote signal, or simply by indicating the mood detected on the screen.
- said alarm and/or visualisation means will be located in a portable receptor.
- the image of a baby' s tantrum entails body language such as: arms shaking, fists closed, head moving, arms raised.
- body language such as: arms shaking, fists closed, head moving, arms raised.
- Another example could be a dog barking, a series of barks with a similar repetition rhythm and with similar energy with a particular frequency and a specific autocorrelation will indicate anxiety, or a moan with a particular rhythm will indicate sadness.
- users can employ the verification means represented in figure 2.
- These verification means comprise the screen 4 for the aforementioned visualisation means, an on/off button 10, an affirmative button 7, a negative button 8 and an indecisiveness button 9. These buttons are used to answer the questions that appear on the screen 4.
- Said validation means also comprise a button 11 to delete the answer and a button 12 to return to the previous question.
- the number of moods can vary depending on the mammal the analysing device of the invention is used with.
- advice can be given. For example, if the baby is hungry, the device would advise the user to give it a bottle or breastfeed it and check if it is thirsty; if it is bored, it would advise the user to keep it company, talk to is softly, take it out for a walk, etc.
