Die als Tüllen ausgebildeten Gehäuse bestehen aus herkömmlichem schlagfestem und billigem Kunststoff, der das Gießharz und die aufgenommene Leitung schützt. Beim Herstellen eines derartigen Verbinders wird zunächst das freie Ende des elektrischen Kabels durch die Tülle gesteckt, danach wird es mit den Kontakträgern verbunden und schießlich das Gehäuse mit Harz ausgefüllt. Die vorgefertigten Tüllen sind dabei so dimensioniert, dass das Kabel mit der Tülle nur im Bereich der Öffnung 18 in Berührung kommt.
