Abstract

L'invention concerne un acier pour moule que l'on utilise dans le moulage d'un plastique présentant une composition chimique exprimée en % de masse : C : 0,5 à 0,45 %, Si : inférieur à 0,3 %, Mn : 0,5 à 2 %, S : 0,1 à 0,5 %, sol. Al : 0,02 % ou inférieur et le reste : Fe et impuretés. L'acier comporte une structure métallique biphase constituée d'entre 15 et 30 % en zone de ferrite et la quantité restante est constituée de perlite et fait preuve d'une granulométrie austénite définie dans JIS G 0551 de 3 ou plus. L'acier peut également renfermer CR jusqu'à 0,5 % et/ou V inférieur ou égal à 2 %. L'acier pour moule allie une bonne usinabilité et une forte conductivité thermique et il peut être obtenu à moindre coût.
