Abstract

A POS server (100) for instantly responding to a request of a shop terminal and for managing the transactions of commodities at a plurality of shops. The POS server (100) comprises a reception unit (152) for receiving commodity identification information from a shop terminal (300), an inventory master (400) for storing therein the commodity information representing the contents of a commodity including the sales price of the commodity and the quantity of inventory of the commodity after relating the commodity information and the quantity of inventory to the commodity identification information on the commodities sold in the shop, a detection unit (172) for extracting, when it receives the commodity identification information, at least one of the commodity information on the commodity corresponding to the commodity identification information and the quantity of inventory, from the stock master (400), and a transmission unit (154) for transmitting at least one of the commodity information and the quantity of inventory extracted, to the shop terminal.
