Abstract

A shoe press (1) for a papermaking machine comprises a press shoe (2) that is pressed against a counter roll (4) by means of at least one hydraulic element (3). The hydraulic element is supported by one side of a stationary support beam (9). The press shoe is connected to a device (17) for withdrawing of the press shoe (2) from the counter roll (4), and the device comprises a piston-cylinder unit (18) that is supported by the opposite side of the stationary support beam (8). Two tie rods (30, 31) are pivotally connected at one of their ends to the press shoe (2) in an area of the associated long side of the shoe and on opposite sides of the hydraulic element (3), and the other of their ends pivotally connected to the cylinder (22) of the piston-cylinder unit (18).
