Abstract

L'invention concerne une base de données de formes moléculaires tridimensionnelles dans laquelle on peut effectuer une recherche efficace de similarités avec une sous-forme moléculaire objet d'une demande. Un appariement triangulaire est, dans un premier temps, effectué entre un triangle de la sous-forme objet de la demande représentant une répartition volumique locale dans la molécule objet de la demande et un triangle de sous-forme cible représentant une répartition volumique locale dans une molécule cible de la base de données. En fonction du chevauchement de la molécule cible et de la molécule objet de la demande, tel que déterminé par l'alignement des triangles des sous-formes appariés, un appariement des formes de la molécule objet de la demande et de la molécule cible alignées est ensuite effectué. Une comparaison d'une direction attribuée à chaque sommet des triangles des sous-formes appariés par rapport à un axe principal d'un volume local échantillonné permet de ne pas prendre en considération des paires de triangles de sous-formes non appropriées, avant l'étape d'appariement des formes nécessitant des ressources de calcul importantes.
