Description

A description of the industrial invention entitled: DOUBLE SOLID FUEL BURNING STOVE Technical field of the patent:
The object of this invention is a double solid fuel burning stove which is suitable to work with fuel like wood in pieces or logs and with loose solid fuel like sawdust, wooden pellets etc. State of the art
Solid double fuel burning stove have been used for many years, especially in places located near forests, due to the quantity and low cost of the available wood. For this reason they have represented a very popular source of heating in this regions.
Recently, solid fuel burning stove functioning with loose solid fuel like sawdust, wooden pellets, olive pits or pits of other dry fruits, olive residues, etc. have been developed.
Patent US-B-6213116 describes a wood-burning stove in which two combustion chambers have been made to increase efficiency. Patent application WO-A-9915833 describes a stove which functions solely with wooden pellets. Patent application FR-A-2745371 describes a coal and wood-burning stove which can be transformed into a stove with a burner for liquid or gas fuels. The technique available today uses as fuel either solely wood or solely loose solid fuel. Just patent application FR-A- 2745371 utilizes gas or liquid fuel instead of wood. The availability of gas fuel is not always guaranteed and moreover the cost of these types of fuels is high. The present invention proposes to overcome the problems and disadvantages present in the solutions available on today's market.
The main purpose of this invention is to realize a double solid fuel burning stove which is composed of a wood furnace, a loose solid fuel furnace, a plate containing a heat exchanger which protects the furnace that is located above, a small oven to cook hot meals, and a heat exchanger used for water and central or room heating . The main characteristic of this invention is to have a stove which can burn two types of solid fuel: wood easily found near forests and a loose solid fuel which is easy to handle.
Wood can be supplied to the stove by hand, whereas the solid fuel can be supplied to the stove automatically. The presence of two types of fuel allows to have one of the two said fuels always available on the market.
So, for example, if wooden pellets are not available at the moment, wood can be used instead.
An other characteristic is given by the fact that the wood-burning furnace is placed under the loose solid fuel furnace, which is placed above.
An other characteristic is given by the fact that the wood-burning furnace is placed above the loose solid fuel furnace, which is placed below.
An other characteristic is given by the fact that the heat exchanger used for water and central heating forms an air casing surrounding the walls of the same stove.
An other characteristic is given by the fact that the heat exchanger used for heating forms a water jacket surrounding the walls of the same stove. An other characteristic is given by the fact that the heat exchanger which protects the furnace placed above is an air - water heat exchanger. An other characteristic is given by the fact that the heat exchanger which protects the furnace placed above is an air - air heat exchanger. An other characteristic is given by the fact that the small oven used for cooking can be taken out to allow a thorough cleaning of the heat exchangers placed within the stove.
Further characteristics and advantages of the invention will be more evident through the description of the preferred but not exclusive realisation methods, of the machine itself, illustrated, just as an indication, but not as a limitation with the aid of the enclosed Figure 1. Figure 1 represents a section of the double solid fuel burning stove which is the object of this invention.
In Figure 1, we can see the double solid fuel burning stove (1), which is formed by an outer casing (2), preferably made out of steel. At the base of this casing is the wood-burning furnace (3). The wood is held by a grate (4) and the furnace utilizes the typical system to increase or decrease the air needed for combustion (which is not represented in the figure). Above the wood-burning furnace (3), there is a second furnace (5) functioning on loose solid fuel like wooden pellets, sawdust, olive residues, dry fruit pits etc. Under the loose solid fuel furnace (5), there is a water- heat exchanger (6) which has a double function of heating the water contained within and of protecting the loose solid fuel furnace (5) from overheating due to the flames which can derive directly from the wood- burning furnace (3). The double solid fuel burning stove (1) has, above the wood-burning furnace (3), a water jacket (7), which surrounds the three sides of the stove , while inside this water jacket (7) is a heat exchanger for domestic hot water (8). Above the loose solid fuel furnace (5) is a small oven (9), which allows cooking of hot meals and is attached to the stove (1) with screws which permit easy disassembly. This operation permits you to have easy maintenance of tube bundle and of the water jacket walls, so the stove will be highly efficient and durable. The stove can also be made up of a loose solid fuel furnace placed in the lower part and the wood-burning furnace placed above the loose solid fuel furnace. The water jacket (7) can be substituted by a heat exchanger used to heat the air. Even the water-heat exchanger (6) can be substituted by an air-heat exchanger.
The combustion smoke is emitted through a tube connected to the stove and built with the usual technique.
This invention is not limited to the representation given by figure 1 but can be perfected and modified by men expert in the art without altering the aim of the patent.
This invention has numerous advantages and will permit to overcome problems which could not be achieved by heating systems on the market today.
