Abstract

L'invention concerne un appareil permettant de couler en continu des feuilles et des bandes de métal. Cet appareil comprend deux cristallisateurs rotatifs munis d'axes parallèles situés sur le plan horizontal et définissant entre eux un espace à largeur réglable et d'un dispositif servant à remplir ledit espace. L'appareil selon l'invention est caractérisé par un dispositif servant à générer au moins trois champs magnétiques sensiblement horizontaux produisant des pressions électromagnétiques qui permettent de contenir au moins une surface d'extrémité du métal fondu dans ledit espace.
