Description

DEVICE FORDYNAMIC DISPLAYING OF INFORMATION
The invention is related to the field of advertising and exhibition business and is intended for displaying symbolic, numeric and graphic information accompanied with light effects and can be used as an advertisement carrier. The invention allows creating an effect that the image of symbolic, numeric or graphic information is «suspended in the air» without a visible carrier on which information is usually displayed. The invention creates the «center of attention» not only due to the absence of the visible carrier, but also due to the image is displayed dynamically and there is an illusion that it appears without any ties with the base of device. The image is formed at the observer's eye retina due to the persistence of human vision. It is desirable that the devices of this kind be manufactured by using simple technologies.
There exists a device for displaying symbolic, numeric and graphic information (Russian Patent 93014689) that consists of the case, indicators whose functions are performed by gas-discharge sign synthesizing graphic indicators located on the printed-circuit cards without the loss of indication phase. The indicators are connected to the elements of control circuits which are connected to the outputs of power supply, control, data transmission and selection of printed-circuit cards. The power supply outputs, and also outputs of control and data transmission of the same name for each printed- circuit card are connected electrically in the device, and the outputs of the printed-circuit card selection are electrically isolated from each other.
The drawback of the known device is the great number of high-cost elements, which is explained by the fact that the number of individual indicators corresponds to the number of displayed image points organized into a matrix which consists of lines and columns, each of- them requiring their own corresponding control element .
The closest analogue to the submitted invention which is the most similar by its design and the whole number of essential features is the rotating information device (Russian Patent 2159962) . It consists of a case, rotating engine with a shaft, rotating display unit containing light emitters, at least one moving light emitter's holder and light emitters' control unit with separate control circuits for each light emitter rigidly connected to the inputs of corresponding light emitters and power supply unit rigidly fixed in the case and connected to the light emitters' control unit via mobile electrical contacts.
The known rotating information device has the optimum system of light emission and one row of rotating light emitters. However, the device also has essential drawbacks: the complicated system of drive and light emitters' control, mobile electrical contacts, which results in high cost and decreases the device reliability.
Moreover, the known device has limited functional capabilities: large curvature of information surface, dependence of light emitter brightness on its angle of rotation with respect to the observer, which considerably decreases the visible part of image; large overall dimensions of the known device with respect to the sizes of the image visible part, which makes the usage of the device as a part of advertising complexes more complicated.
The given device also has a visible tie of the information surface to the device's body, which essentially decreases the advertising effect.
The task to be solved by the submitted invention is to design and produce a device for dynamic display of information which is supplied with mechanical drive capable of making the moving light emitters' holder perform oscillating movements with respect to the base, which does not contain mobile electrical contacts and rotating work pieces.
The technical result obtained after realization of the given invention consists of the device's improved reliability, technological effectiveness of its manufacture, compactness and low cost due to simplification of the drive and control system. The obtained parameters extend the functional capabilities of the device making it employable not only as an independent advertisement carrier but also as a built-in informational element of advertisement complex. The effect that the image is stretched when appearing on the information surface, and contracted when leaving it that is created by the device submitted for patenting makes the potential observer concentrate his attention on the information displayed.
This results in a higher efficiency of the device for advertising and exhibitions in comparison with its closest analogue .
The above technical result achieved in the device for dynamic displaying of information which consists of light emitters and at least one moving light emitters' holder, mechanical drive supplied with the drive control unit mounted on the base and kinematically connected to the moving light emitters' holder as well light emitters' control unit connected with light emitters is due to that it uses the mechanical drive and moving light emitters' holder that form the mechanical oscillator capable to make the moving light emitters' holder perform oscillating movements with respect to the base.
Furthermore, the reliability of the mechanical oscillator operation is to be enhanced by one position transducer of moving light emitters' holder the drive control unit is supplied with. Furthermore, to avoid mobile contacts the light emitters' control unit is electrically connected to the light emitters by elastic conductors.
Furthermore, to transmit the light from the light emitters' control unit to the light emitters the elastic light guides are used.
Furthermore, the mechanical gear is designed so that it enables the light emitters' holder to perform oscillating movements in one plane with respect to the base.
Furthermore, the mechanical gear is designed so that it enables the light emitters' holder to perform independent oscillating movements in two planes with respect to the base.
The design of mechanical gear as the mechanical oscillator that enables the light emitters' holder to perform oscillating movements with respect to the base allows for essential simplification of the submitted device, decrease in electricity consumption, increase in the device reliability as well as provides the compactness of its design.
The drive control unit equipped with at least one position transducer of moving light emitters' holder makes the device working frequency more stable, ensures constant amplitude of oscillations for moving light emitters' holder and makes the above parameters independent of ambient environment . The device's drive designed without using rotating working pieces makes it possible to fix light emitters' control unit rigidly in the device case and to connect it with the light emitters by flexible conductors thus avoiding the usage of mobile contacts, which results in enhanced reliability of the device and its lower cost.
The usage of elastic light guides to connect light emitters' control unit to the light emitters allows the light sources to be fixed rigidly in the device's case and more powerful light sources to be employed, without their weight and dimensions influencing the oscillator parameters, which also makes it possible to increase the length of moving light emitters' holder and the size of information surface respectively.
The mechanical drive designed to allow independent oscillating movements of the moving light emitters' holder in two planes with respect to the base makes it possible to control the movement of the moving light emitters' holder by two coordinates which enables the creation of three- dimensional images or even several information surfaces.
Fig.l shows the schematic picture of the device for dynamic displaying of information. The device contains: light emitters 1 fixed on the light emitters' holder 2 which is kinematically connected with mechanical drive 3; mechanical drive 3 is mounted on the base 4 and controlled by the drive control unit 5, which is connected by synchronization line 6 with the light emitters' control unit 7; position transducer 8 connected with the drive control unit 5. The mechanical drive 3 and the moving light emitters' holder 2 make up the mechanical oscillator. When moving, light emitters 1 can create information surface 9.
The proposed device for dynamic displaying of information works in the following way.
When the device is switched from the drove control unit 5 the control signals are transmitted to the mechanical drive 3 with the frequency close to the resonance frequency of the oscillator. The moving light emitters' holder 2 with the light emitters 1 fixed on it makes induced oscillations with respect to the base 4. The light emitters' control unit 7 sends control signals which are synchronized with the position of the moving light emitters' holder 2 by the synchronization signals from the drive control unit 5 to the emitters 1. The light emitters 1 move in space and due to the persistence of vision create the illusion of information surface 9 which displays symbolic, numeric and graphic information recorded in light emitters' control unit 7.
In prevailing performance the position transducer 8 of the moving light emitters' holder 2 sends feedback signals that correspond to the position of the moving light emitters' holder 2 to the gear control unit 5. When the oscillation parameters of the moving light emitters' holder 2 deviate from the values fixed for them the drive control unit 5 corrects the control signals sent to the mechanical drive 3 and adjusts the oscillation frequency of the oscillator.
The moving light emitters' holder output 7 can be connected with the light emitters 1 by elastic conductors.
The moving light emitters' holder output 7 can be connected with the light emitters 1 by elastic light guides.
The shape of information surface 9 depends on the shape of the moving light emitters' holder 2 and obeys the movement law set for the moving light emitters' holder 2 by the drive control unit 5. For example, the moving light emitters' holder
2 may perform reciprocating motion in one plane with respect to the base 4. When employing the mechanical drive 3 designed to enable the moving light emitters' holder 2 to perform independent oscillating movements in two planes with respect the base 4 the moving light emitters' holder 2 can perform the motion along conic or spiral trajectory as well as by the trajectories of Liassajous figures. Such a variety of motion trajectories makes it possible to create three-dimensional images, which will considerably extend the functional capabilities of the device.
