Abstract

The invention refers to the universal multi-purpose sports and/or massage device that may be used for strengthening one's upper part of the body and arm muscles, at water exercise or as a massage device. The universal multi-purpose sports and/or massage device referred to in this invention consists of an empty cylinder (1) whereof the central diameter is shorter than the diameter of both attachments (2,2') and is on one end provided with an opening (3) with threaded or similar edge, topped with a threaded or similar stopper (4), while the central part of the body (1) is provided with protruding gnarls (5). The universal multi-purpose sports and/or massage device referred to in this invention is accompanied by a support (6) that is useful at packing and transport of the device and the embossed edges (8,8') of the support allow for guided rolling of the cylindrical body in its central part (1), whereby the length of the movement is different from that at exercising without the support (6).

Description

UNIVERSAL MULTI-PURPOSE SPORTS AND/OR MASSAGE DEVICE WITH A SUPPORT
The invention refers to the universal multi-purpose sports and/or massage device that may be used for strengthening one's upper part of the body and arm muscles, at water exercise or as a massage device; its packaging may also be used as a support that enables differently long movements of extremities in the course of exercising. The invention ranks to classes A 63 B 11/00 and/or A 61 H 15/00.
The technical problem successfully solved by the device in question involves the design and the construction of a multi-purpose device applicable to various sports activities for strengthening one's body, for water sports and exercising activities as well as for massage of certain parts of the body.
The known sports devices produced for strengthening the muscles of the upper part of one's body and arms predominantly include various types of weighs. They may be made as handles of a specific weight or their weight may be adjusted by mounting or removing rings of different weights. The weak point of the first type of the device is that efficient exercising requires a whole collection of handles of different weights, while in the second case the device consists of a large number of parts. Moreover, the devices of this type are designed only for certain type of exercising and are not appropriate for any other exercising.
The universal multi-purpose sports and/or massage device referred to in this invention consists of an empty cylinder whereof the central diameter is shorter than the diameter of both attachments and is on one end provided with an opening with threaded or similar edge, topped with a threaded or similar stopper, while the central part of the body is provided with protruding gnarls. The universal multi-purpose sports and/or massage device referred to in this invention is accompanied by a support that is useful at packing and transport of the device and the embossed edges of the support allow for guided rolling of the cylindrical body in its central part, whereby the length of the movement is different from that at exercising without the support. The invention will be explained in detail on the basis of the concrete example and the corresponding figures whereof
Figure 1 shows the universal multi-purpose sports and/or massage device as a side view; Figure 2 shows the universal multi-purpose sports and/or massage device as a A-A cross-section; Figure 3 shows a detail of the central part of the body with protruding gnarls;
Figure 4 shows the support as part of the packaging - top view;
Figure 5 shows the support referred to in this invention as a B-B cross-section;
Figure 6 shows the side view of the mounting of the universal multipurpose sports and/or massage device referred to in this invention into the support in order to achieve shorter movements at the massage;
The universal multi-purpose sports and/or massage device referred to in this invention, as shown in Figures 1 through 3, consists of an empty cylinder 1 , at both ends symmetrically expanded into two attachments 2 and 2'. The diameter of the body 1 is shorter than the diameters of both attachments 2 and 2'. One of the attachments 2 or 2' is provided with an opening 3 with threaded or similar edge, topped with a stopper 4. The stopper 4 may be threaded or it tightly closes the opening 3 in any other way. The body 1 is provided with protruding gnarls 5 that may be arranged in a pattern shown in Figure 1. The body 1 is predominantly made of soft plastics or similar material. At the application of the universal multi-purpose sports and/or massage device as a muscle strengthening device, the device referred to in this invention may be filled with water, sand, steel balls or similar material in order to get appropriate weight. Through dosing of the filling material the device may obtain different weight.
In the event that the device referred to in this invention is to be used as an aid in water gymnastics, one can place two empty devices floating on the water surface under one's arm pits in order to float on the water surface and to exercise one's lower extremities and one's lower part of the body. Such exercising is better than jogging because exercising in water involves no strain for the joints, yet regular exercising may strengthen the muscles. The protruding gnarls 5 on the body 1 also produce a very good massage effect. The fully or partly filled in body 1 fits very well to the place that requires massage, e.g. to one's sole and/or to the round parts of one's foot or palm. The massage effect may also be completed by alternating massage with two devices, one filled with hot water and the other one with cold water.
The use of the support 6, that is in fact the lower part of the packaging, may enable movements of different lengths produced at the massage of e.g. soles, palms etc. The support 6 shown as top view in Figure 4 is shaped as a low board with two recesses 7,7' whereof the size corresponds to the position and to the size of the attachments 2, 2'. The universal multi-purpose sports and/or massage device referred to in this invention, in the support 6 in longitudinal position, is ready for transport; it only needs to be covered with a duly shaped cover. The support 6 is provided with embossed edges 8,8' whereof the form is also evident from Figure 5. The width of the support 6 enables rolling of the body 1 along the longer lateral embossed edges 8. The height of the embossed edges 8 is such as to prevent the attachments 2,2' of the universal massage device to touch the base. The shorter lateral embossed edges 8' are slightly higher than the before mentioned embossed edges 8 and prevent the universal massage device from falling out of the support 6. The side- view of the mounting of the universal multi-purpose sports and/or massage device referred to in this invention into the support 6 is shown in Figure 6.
In view of a better grip and in order to prevent gliding of the massage device at rolling on the ground or along the support 6, the attachments 2,2' are provided with non-gliding tapes 9,9' applied on the circumference at the inner part near the entrance into the body 1. Furthermore, non-gliding tapes 10,10' are placed on the circumference of the body 1 at the transition of the body 1 into the attachments 2,2' at the spot where the body 1 touches the embossed edges 8. The non-gliding tapes 9,9', 10, 10' are made of rubber or similar materials.
Considering the above described applications, the universal multi- purpose sports and/or massage device referred to in this invention successfully solves the imposed technical problem; besides, it may also be used for other exercising not mentioned above, which does not limit the above described invention in any way whatsoever.

Claims

PATENT CLAIMS
1. The universal multi-purpose sports and/or massage device, characterized in that it consists of an empty cylinder (1), at both ends symmetrically expanded into two attachments (2 and 2'), whereby the pressure strength of the body 81) depends on the material with which it is filled.
2. The universal multi-purpose sports and/or massage device according to claim 1 , characterized in that the diameter of the body (1) is shorter than the diameter of the attachments (2,2").
3. The universal multi-purpose sports and/or massage device according to claims 1 and 2, characterized in that one of the attachments (2,2') is provided with an opening (3) with threaded or similar edge, topped with a threaded or similar stopper (4).
4. The universal multi-purpose sports and/or massage device according to claims 1 through 3, characterized in that the body (1) is provided with protruding gnarls (5) arranged in a pattern.
5. The universal multi-purpose sports and/or massage device according to claims 1 through 4, characterized in that the body (1) is filled with water, sand, steel balls or similar material.
6. The universal multi-purpose sports and/or massage device according to claims 1 through 5, characterized in that the non-gliding tapes (9,9') are applied to the attachments (2,2') at the inner part near the entrance into the body (1).
7. The universal multi-purpose sports and/or massage device according to claims 1 through 5, characterized in that
the non-gliding tapes (10,10') are applied to the body (1) at the very transition of the body (1) into the attachments (2,2') on the spot where the body (1) rolls along the embossed edges (8) of the support (6). The support of the universal multi-purpose sports and/or massage device characterized in that the width of the support (6), shaped as a low board with two recesses (7,7') and embossed edges (8,8') is such as to enable rolling of the body (1) along the longer lateral embossed edges (8), whereby the shorter lateral embossed edges (8') are slightly higher than the embossed edges (8).
