  • a benefit of having the transport platform ready-loaded already at the factory gives the benefit of a reduced number of loading cycles, possibility of using simpler securing means and reduced exposure of cargo to weather.
  • the superposed loading of cargo in the hull allows the cargo center of gravity to be placed higher and reduces the ship's metacentric height, whereby also the risk of damage to the cargo is diminished.
  • Another preferred embodiment of the invention is characterized in that the lowermost transport platform is lowered into the cargo space on support legs mounted on the ship's double bottom and/or the sidewalls of the hull.

Abstract

L'invention concerne une plate-forme de transport (2) permettant de transporter des charges lourdes, telles que des bobines de bande d'acier (3), dans l'espace de chargement d'un navire (1), la plate-forme de transport présentant des dimensions de fond sensiblement rectangulaires. L'invention est mise en oeuvre en ajustant des montants de support (4) aux coins de la plate-forme de transport (2), ou en fermant, sensiblement sur ladite plate-forme, lesdits montants de support (4) pouvant être mis en rotation séparément les uns des autres, entre deux positions limites, appelées position supérieure et position inférieure, indépendamment du fait que la plate-forme soit ou ne soit pas chargée, les montants de support (4) pouvant être mis en rotation le long d'une trajectoire passant par l'espace intérieur de la plate-forme de transport (2), de sorte que des obstacles potentiellement situés sur la plate-forme de transport n'obstruent pas la rotation des montants de support.
