Abstract

A method and apparatus for producing monolithic actuators (figure 6). Conducting polymer monolithic membranes, using polyaniline, polypyrrole, or polythiophene, are produced and used as monolithic actuators (figure 6). The actuators (figure 6) can be activated chemically, electrochemically, and by acidic vapors.
