Abstract

L'invention concerne une bande de textile tissé destinée à être utilisée dans un tissu de base en feutre pressé utilisé pour construire un feutre pressé destiné à être utilisé dans la section presse d'une machine à papier. Cette bande de textile comprend des fils de chaîne (68, 69) et des fils de trame (61-67) entrelacés selon un motif général répété. Dans la partie centrale du tissu, les fils de chaîne (68, 69) et les fils de trame (61-67) sont tissés de manière à former un motif convenant à un tissu de base en feutre pressé, lequel motif peut comporter des paires (71, 81) de fils de trame entrelacés. Dans les deux parties de bordure du tissu, au moins une des paires de fils de chaîne (68, 69) est entrelacée selon un motif de gaze, ce qui permet de renforcer considérablement la résistance des bordures du tissu. Ce renforcement de la résistance des bordures facilite l'assemblage du tissu de base en feutre pressé à partir d'une bande au moyen du procédé d'enroulement en spirale étant donné qu'une couture beaucoup plus sûre peut être effectuée entre les bordures contiguës des spires successives de la spirale. De plus, l'entrelacement des fils de trame et/ou des fils de chaîne par paires permet d'améliorer l'espace vide disponible dans le tissu ainsi que les propriétés de résistance aux compressions du tissu.
