Abstract

Selon l'invention, de la matière à traiter par réaction d'oxydo-réduction électrochimique favorisée, est mélangée à un électrolyte contenant des ions d'une espèce oxydante ou réductrice primaire qui peut être régénérée par voie électrochimique. Le mélange est exposé directement à des ultrasons et/ou à des sons pour améliorer l'oxydation ou la réduction respective entre les ions et la matière. Dans ce procédé, l'espèce oxydante ou réductrice primaire est respectivement réduite ou oxydée et est régénérée par application d'un potentiel électrique dans une pile électrochimique.
