A COOKING DEVICE
The present invention relates to a cooking device comprising a connecting piece that facilitates the mounting of the spark plugs, which provide the ignition.
In the state of art, sparking plugs that provide the ignition are used in cooking devices. During the mounting of said spark plugs, certain problems arise while placing them into their mounting recesses. Particularly in the cooking devices using inflammable gases, such as natural gas or LPG, the problem arises for the positioning of the spark plugs at specific ignition distances according to the type of the gas to be used.
The object of the present invention is to facilitate the mounting of the sparking plugs that provide the ignition in the cooking devices.

17. Ignitor
18. Spark plug body
19. Upper surface 20. Lower surface
The cooking device (1) comprises a burner plate (10) that provides heating and cooking, at least one burner recess (2) on said burner plate (10), one or more burner assemblies (11) placed on the burner recess (2) and which provides the heating of the containers and cooking of the food contained in said containers, one spark plug (4) that provides the first ignition of the gas having the burner assembly (11), at least one spark plug recess (5) to place said spark plug (4) in it, and a resilient connecting piece (3) that facilitates the mounting of the spark plug (4) into its recess (5) and which is not effected by such factors as cleaning substances, heat, food debris, etc.
Said burner assembly (11), consists of a burner chassis (12), and a burner head (13) located on sad burner chassis (12).
The spark plug (4) has preferably a porcelain spark plug body (18). A stopper (16) providing the mounting of the spark plug (4) at the required position; a cable
(15) connected to said spark plug body (18), which supplies the energy required for activating the spark plug (4); and an ignitor (17) connected to said cable (15) to ignite said spark plug (4), are provided on the spark plug body (18).
The connecting piece (3) is mounted preferably between the lower part of the spark plug (4) and the stopper (16) by pushing. By virtue of its flexible structure, said connecting piece (3) surrounds and is fixed over the spark pugs (4) and due to the structure of its material, it avoids any harm that may occur to the user in case of an electrical leakage, in the spark plug (4). The spark plug (4) with the connecting piece (3) attached on it, is placed into the spark plug recess (5) by pushing and the escape of the spark plug (4) out of its recess (5) is prevented by virtue of its elastic structure.
Said connecting piece (3) which is preferably made of silicon material, comprises a preferably planar lower surface (20) that contacts with the bottom surface of the spark plug recess (5); a preferably planar upper surface (19) that contacts with the surface of the stopper (16); an outer surface (6) with a preferably elliptical cross section in line with the inner surface of the spark plug recess (5) and a recess (7) with a preferably follow cylindrical inner surface, in line with the outer surface of the spark plug body (18).
In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the central axes of the recess (7) and the connecting piece (3) do not coincide and due to this offset of said central axes, the position of the recess (7) changes when rotated about its central axis. Due to the outer surface (6) having preferably a symmetrical structure with respect to its central axis, the rotated connecting piece (3) can easily be mounted in the spark plug recess (5), but the mounting position of the recess (7) and therefore, that of the spark plug (4) placed in said recess (7) is subject to change also.
In a preferred embodiment of the present invention by virtue of the upper surface (19), lower surface (20) and the surfaces of the spark plug recess (5), particularly the inclined lateral surfaces, the spark plug (4) can be positioned at the desired angle and height.
In this method, wherein the heights of the spark plug recess (5) and the connecting piece (3) determine the positioning height of the spark plug (4), the upper surface (19) and lower-surface (20) of the connecting piece (3) are planar and parallel to each other. In this manner, the height of the spark plug (4) remains constant even if the connecting piece (3) is rotated about the axis of the outer surface (6).
When the planer upper and lower surfaces (19,20) are not parallel to each other and/or when the surfaces, particularly the lateral surfaces of the spark plug recess (5) are inclined, the spark plug (4) can be mounted at different angles.
In another embodiment, the connecting piece (3) is provided with a plurality of recesses (7). Thus, the spark plug (4) can be placed in different recesses (7) to be mounted at different positions, whether the position of the connecting piece changes or not.
One or more mounting projections (9) on the outer surface (6) and/or recess (7) and on the spark plug (4) that the recess (7) is in contact with and/or on the spark plug recess (5) that the outer surface (6) is in contact, with on one or more channels (8), preferably extending on the entire surface, are provided.
Said mounting projection (9) and the channel (8) serve to provide the mounting of the spark plug (4) with an connecting piece (3) attached on it, in the spark plug recess (5), in the correct position and manner.
In the embodiments wherein a plurality of mounting projections (9) are provided, said spark plug (4) can be mounted into the spark plug recess (5) at several
positions, by means of each mounting projection (9). Thus, in cases when different burning conditions for different gas options and/or different spark plugs (4) are used, correct and accurate mounting at the correct position is made possible for all different options.
In another embodiment of the invention, a neck (14) is provided to join the connecting piece (3), the recess (7) and the outer surface (6). Said neck (14), facilitates the mounting and dismounting of the connecting piece (3) to the spark plug (4) and enables said connecting piece (3) to be mounted easily on the spark plugs (4) with different dimensions.
By virtue of said connecting piece (3), the same sparkplug (4) can easily be mounted at the required, correct position so that it can provide ignition under different gas or pressure conditions.
