Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé de régénération d'électrodes en zinc, en particulier pour batteries au zinc-air rechargeables. Selon ce procédé, on introduit de l'oxyde de zinc dans un électrolyte, contenu dans une cuve de dissolution, afin de produire des ions zinc. Les ions zinc situés dans cet électrolyte sont transformés au moins partiellement en ions zincate. L'électrolyte, avec les ions zincate dissous à l'intérieur, est acheminé à une cuve de réacteur et les ions zincates situés dans ladite cuve de réacteur sont transformés en zinc au moins partiellement par voie électrolytique au niveau d'une cathode support, où le zinc, en particulier sous la forme d'une éponge, est séparé. Ce procédé se caractérise en ce qu'un mélange d'oxyde de zinc d'origine quelconque, en particulier de l'oxyde de zinc issu de déchets, est utilisé comme produit de départ pour l'oxyde de zinc. Cette invention concerne également un dispositif de régénération d'électrodes en zinc, en particulier pour batteries au zinc-air rechargeables, servant notamment à la mise en oeuvre dudit procédé.
