Abstract

The invention relates to defined peptides and the quantitative determination thereof in body fluids or tissue samples of patients suffering from breast cancer disease. The inventive peptides are processed in a specific manner and are post-translationally or chemically modified. They are modified in a specific manner for each peptide in the concentration thereof in breast cancer patients. A specific and significant modification in the concentration of said peptides indicates breast cancer. The invention can be used to verify the course of an illness, dividing the illness up into various stages, in the stratification of patients and in the development of diagnostic agents.
