Abstract

The present invention relates to an alternative payment apparatus and method using a barcode stored in a mobile communication terminal. The alternative payment apparatus and method assigns a certain amount of money from a credit card of a guardian or alternative payer of a barcode user ineligible to be issued with credit cards to a barcode of a barcode user's mobile communication terminal to pay for services or commodities purchased by the barcode user at a later time or in advance when the barcode user is provided with services or purchases commodities using the barcode, thus minimizing economic losses due to the imprudent use of credits cards by young persons or new credit card holders, preventing several problems caused by the imprudent use of credit cards by young persons, and enabling young persons or users having low debt repayment capacities to smoothly use credit cards.
