Abstract

A cordless battery powered hairdryer (10) comprises a catalystic gas burner (34) and a motor driven fan (22). A first baffle (58) shrouds the burner against airflow cooling the burner and a second baffle (54) deflects combusted gas exiting the burner (34) so as to mix with airflow after flowing around the burner.
