Then, the message SMS is received by the destination GSM telephone 51 in a way defined by the GSM net.

  • This program includes also a procedure for connecting to and communicating with the destination GSM cellular telephone 51 wholly similar to the one stored in the SMS interface 10.
  • the activation of this program allows to receive the SMS containing the blood sugar level measured values of a given patient and to organize and display all the data contained therein, according to pre-selected schemes.
  • the doctor can easily evaluate the course of the blood sugar level of that patient, and possibly change the insulin doses and communicate it to the patient by means of another SMS or a normal telephone call.
  • SMSs can be received only by authorized staff and in a coded form.
  • Another advantage derives from the fact that the patient does not have to move in order to transmit the data contained in the blood sugar level meter.

Abstract

Un procédé de collecte de valeurs mesurées de glycémie relevées par un patient au moyen d'un compteur de glycémie à autocontrôle (1) comprend la transmission des valeurs mesurées de glycémie depuis le compteur de glycémie (1) à un dispositif d'interface SMS (10). Le dispositif (10) est doté d'une interface d'entrée (11) vers le compteur de glycémie (1), d'un moyen (13) destiné à stocker temporairement les valeurs mesurées, d'un moyen (14) destiné à stocker de façon permanente ou semi-permanente au moins un numéro de téléphone de destination, correspondant à un téléphone GSM de destination (51) ou un centre de collecte de données (50), et une interface de sortie (15) vers un téléphone cellulaire GSM d'origine (16). Le dispositif (10) crée un SMS lequel contient les données mesurées et un code d'identification du patient, et lequel est envoyé au centre de collecte de données (50). Ensuite, le SMS est transmis, par l'intermédiaire de l'interface de sortie (15), vers le téléphone cellulaire GSM d'origine (16), et celui-ci est activé pour transmettre le SMS au téléphone GSM de destination (51). Ensuite, le téléphone GSM de destination (51) reçoit le SMS. Le téléphone GSM de destination (51) est doté d'une interface de communication avec un ordinateur (52), appartenant au centre de collecte (50). Un programme de gestion chargé dans le processeur électronique (52) passe périodiquement en revue le téléphone GSM de destination (51) et en extrait le SMS contenant les données mesurées, afin de les organiser selon un critère prédéterminé.
