Abstract

Thiazolotriazole derivatives represented by the general formula (|) or salts thereof; herbicides containing the derivatives or the salts as the active ingredient; and intermediates for the preparation of the derivatives: (|) (A-1) (A-2) [wherein R1 is H or the like; and A is a substituted vinyl group represented by the general formula (A-1) (wherein X is O, CHR3 or NR4; Y is O or S; R2 is ZR5 or NR6R7; n is an integer of 0 to 3; Z is O or S; R3 is H or the like; R4 is H or the like; and R5 to R7 are each independently H or the like, and R6 and R7 may be the same or different from each other, or R6 and R7 together with the nitrogen atom to which they are bonded may form a heterocyclic group), or a substituted vinyl group represented by the general formula (A-2) (wherein R8 to R10 are each independently H or the like; and R2 and n are each as defined above)]. The thiazolotriazole derivatives exhibit excellent herbicidal activity against weeds obstructing the raising of crops without doing chemical damage to crops including rice plants, when applied even in a lowered dosage.
