Abstract

A water supply installation has a water inlet (5) which leads via a syphon conduit (3, 4) to a discharge outlet (6) at a lower level than the inlet (5). A flow-operated pulsing device (18) is connected in the syphon conduit operable by a syphonic flow of water through the conduit to create a pulsed flow of water through a delivery outlet (7) at a higher level than the inlet. The delivery outlet includes a non-return valve (14).

expulsion of water through the delivery outlet. Any air which is entrained into the conduit will be expelled through the delivery outlet so that there is a sustained supply of water.

Figure 4 is a diagrammatic view of a typical discharge outlet arrangement which incorporates a flow-operated pump; and
Figure 5 is a diagrammatic view of a modified delivery outlet arrangement which incorporates a flow-operated pump.
