Definitions

  • the invention relates to a bathtub or a shower tray made of a plastic with a reinforcement insert incorporated into the bottom thereof, such a reinforcement insert, the use of this reinforcement insert for producing a reinforced base area of a bathtub or shower tray and a method for producing a bathtub or shower tray.
  • bathtubs also comprising a shower tray or the like.
  • Today bathtubs are either made from an enamelled sheet or from a plastic material.
  • the side of the bathtub facing the user is often made of acrylic glass or sanitary glass.
  • This acrylic glass is PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate).
  • a thin PMMA plastic plate is deep-drawn into the actual basic shape.

  • one or more layers of a plastic material are then applied to the lower side and thus to the side facing away from the user, for example by spraying on or by laying on, etc.
  • the object of the present invention is to provide an improved reinforcement insert for bathtubs or shower trays which can be easily worked into the floor and is securely and firmly connected to it.
  • the reinforcement insert has an essentially flat base plate which, in the incorporated state, points towards the tub.
  • This plastic material binds when it reacts or hardens or adheres to the bottom area of the bathtub and thus, by the plastic protruding through the holes, represents a positive connection of the reinforcement insert to the floor when the plastic has hardened or has reacted , Filling the compartments as such ensures that the floor has a sufficient thickness and withstands the mechanical requirements.
  • the base plate also ensures that the heat of reaction of the plastic material reacting in the compartment is isolated from the floor, which prevents changes in color or other changes in the bottom area of the bathtub when viewed from above, which are caused by excessive heat generation ,
