Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé et un dispositif pour traiter thermiquement des matières solides se présentant sous forme pulvérulente ou granulée à l'aide de flux de gaz (7, 16, 22, 23, 24), au moyen d'un corps (2) en mouvement autour de son axe de rotation (1). Ce procédé comprend successivement les étapes suivantes : dans un premier temps, les matières en vrac placées dans des segments (3) du corps en mouvement (2) sont chauffées par exposition à de la vapeur d'eau (22). Les matières en vrac chauffées sont ensuite soumises à une amenée d'air (23) et/ou à une amenée de gaz inerte (24) au cours d'une ou de plusieurs étapes subséquentes. Pour finir, les matières séchées et/ou rendues inertes sont extraites (17) des segments (3) du corps (2) en mouvement autour de son axe de rotation (1).
