Abstract

A disagglomeration system for disagglomerating bonded particles in a bed of particulate material, the system characterised by including at least one nozzle arrangement having a rotating turbine-type head, capable of receiving high pressure fluid so as to generate and direct a high velocity fluid jet at the weakly bonded bed of particles to liberate entrapped minerals and mineral bearing particles therefrom. A method for disagglomerating bonded particles is also provided. Preferably the disagglomeration system includes an ultrasonic wave generating means for ultrasonically stimulating the fluid jet.
