Abstract

The present invention concerns a stent (10, 20) for implantation into the internal carotid artery (4), with a lower end (11, 21) and an upper end (12, 22), wherein the radius decreases from lower end (11, 21) to upper end (12, 22), hereby characterized in that stent (10, 20) has a tectonic structure in the form of angles and curvatures adapted to the course of internal carotid artery (4) and that lower end (11) in the region of the outlet of internal carotid artery (4) is formed as an ovaloid recess is provided in the region of the outlet (3) of the external carotid artery.
