Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé et un système de guidage pour soutenir, guider et refroidir des barres de coulée en acier (1), notamment des ébauches de profilés (2) pour des poutres, qui sont refroidies par des projections d'eau (29) avant d'être évacuées. Ce procédé et ce système servent à éviter la formation de fissures, notamment de fissures superficielles, dans la structure des barres, grâce à l'adaptation des conditions de refroidissement de la surface des barres lors du refroidissement secondaire. Ils servent également à éviter un surrefroidissement de la croûte de la barre. Pour éviter une solidification indésirable sur les arêtes supérieures des ailes des profilés ou dans d'autres zones de la section transversale, le refroidissement et le soutien du format de l'ébauche de poutre sont adaptés aux zones de solidification de sorte qu'ils s'effectuent uniquement dans les zones où se forme un cratère liquide. A cet effet, la barre de coulée (1) est refroidie sur les côtés longitudinaux et transversaux (13 ; 14) de sa section transversale (1a) par un pilotage ciblé de la température dans des segments de soutien supérieurs (5, 6, 7) au moyen de jets d'eau (8) présentant une largeur au moins équivalente à la longueur des rouleaux de soutien. La barre de coulée est de moins en moins soutenue, de manière analogue à la longueur du trajet de la barre et à l'état de refroidissement dans des zones centrales (15) de la section transversale (1a) de la barre, sur les côtés transversaux (14) de la section transversale (1a) de la barre, et elle est refroidie uniquement au moyen de jets d'eau (8) dirigés sur les zones centrales (15).
