Abstract

Cette invention concerne des compositions et des méthodes permettant d'inhiber la protéolyse neurotoxique de l'ubiquitine-protéasome, ainsi que le traitement des maladies neurodégénératives. L'invention concerne en particulier une méthode propre à supprimer l'effet neurotoxique du peptide β-amyloïde par administration d'un inhibiteur qui bloque la protéolyse de l'ubiquitine-protéasome induite par un peptide β-amyloïde. Parmi les inhibiteurs préférés figurent des inhibiteurs d'ubiquitination, tels qu'un dipeptide de leucine-alanine, et des inhibiteurs de l'activité protéasome tel que la lactacystine.
