Definitions
- alkyl polyglucosides as filtration aids in
- the present invention relates to a filter aid for viscose containing alkyl polyglucosides.
- the present invention further relates to a process for the production of viscose, in which the filtration aids according to the invention are used.
- the present invention relates to a spinnable viscose obtainable by the process according to the invention and to a cellulose which each contain alkyl polyglucosides.
- the present invention also relates to cellulose fibers which are obtained by spinning the viscose according to the invention.
- cellulose fibers by the viscose process has been well known for a long time and is described, for example, by Götze, chemical fibers according to the viscose process, 3rd edition, Springer-Verlag, Berlin (1967).
- a specially produced cellulose is converted under certain conditions with caustic soda to alkali cellulose.
- the alkali cellulose is then fiberized and subjected to a preliminary stage during which the cellulose is depolymerized.
- the alkali cellulose is sulfided with carbon disulphide and dissolved as a cellulose xanthate by the addition of a dissolving solution, the so-called viscose being obtained.
- the viscose is filtered to remove solid components and vented before it can be spun.
- Filtration of the viscose before spinning is of central importance in the viscose process, since if the solid components are not adequately separated from the viscose, disturbances can occur during the spinning process.
- Contaminants include both incompletely reacted constituents of the pulp, in particular undissolved but also swollen cellulose fiber fragments, impurities from the pulp or reaction by-products, for example metal sulfides. The type and extent of the impurities depend on the quality of the pulp used and the process parameters selected.
- filtration aids are usually added to it. These filtration aids optimize the course of individual reaction steps, thereby increasing the quality and filterability of the viscose.
- the filtration aids are fed to the process before filtration, preferably during sulfidation.
- Filtration aids from the substance classes of the ethoxylated fatty amines, sulfated fatty acids, fatty alcohol ethers, polyethylene glycols, ethoxylated alkylphenols and sulfonated oils are known from the prior art.
- surface-active substances of a surfactant nature are disclosed as filtration aids. As described in Elöd, Götze and Rauch, Zell Wool Chemical Fibers 321, 626, 680, 751 and 818 (1955), these substances result in more uniform alkalization and pre-ripening, faster and more uniform sulfidation and the formation of a more rapidly soluble xanthate, which results in a better filterable viscose is obtained.
- EP 0 074 012 A2 discloses high molecular weight alkali polysaccharide xanthates as filtration aids, the use of which can reduce the usual 3 to 4 filtration stages by 50%.
- a disadvantage of the filtration aids for the production of cellulose fibers according to the prior art is the low environmental compatibility, especially with regard to their biodegradability but also, at least with some substance classes, with regard to the toxic effect.
- the object is achieved according to the invention by providing filtration aids for viscose which contain at least one alkyl polyglucoside.
- Filtration aids within the meaning of the present invention are substances which are used in the viscose process up to the process step of the first viscose filtration in order to enable raw materials to be saved in the fiber production process with at least the same filterability of the viscose and / or to improve the filterability of the viscose.
