Abstract

L'utilisation de l'Internet est largement répandue en particulier au moyen de modems commutés. Cependant, il n'existe actuellement aucun procédé de compression de contenus vidéo de haute qualité optimisant la qualité d'une largeur de bande donnée disponible. De même, il n'existe aucun procédé de compression de contenu vidéo pouvant être décompressé sur un dispositif de calcul avec une puissance de traitement minimale. Les systèmes de compression/décompression vidéo classiques requièrent une application logicielle ou un module d'extension d'explorateur sur l'ordinateur de l'utilisateur final, étant donné que leur décompression nécessite énormément de traitement. L'invention concerne un procédé et un système dans lesquels des données vidéo peuvent être décompressées en temps réel, dans un environnement Java, de manière que des mini-applications vidéo exécutables peuvent être présentées sur des sites Web, et peuvent être accessibles universellement. Ces utilisateurs finaux n'ont pas besoin de télécharger, de configurer et d'augmenter les capacités d'applications logicielles ou de modules d'extension multiples.
