Abstract

La présente invention concerne une méthode de prédiction de la distance maximale de roulage en mode dégradé, sans détérioration substantielle du roulage, d'un ensemble monté (9) comportant une jante, un appui de sécurité et en pneumatique montes sur la jante. La méthode selon l'invention consiste à faire rouler, à partir d'un instant t0, sous une charge déterminée et avec une vitesse V constante, l'ensemble monté (9) à une pression de gonflage réduite ou nulle ou ledit appui monté sur la jante, sur au moins une surface de roulage (21) de manière que le centre (C) de la jante soit un point sensiblement invariant lors du roulage, en suivant d'une variable R représentative de l'écrasement radial de l'appui en fonction du temps t de roulage, cette méthode consistant également: (i) à déterminer une valeur R1 qu'atteint la variable R au bout d'un temps de stabilisation t1 prédéterminé tel que le sens de variation de la variable R est représentatif d'un écrasement radial de l'appui globalement croissant au-delà du temps t1, puis (ii) à déterminer un temps de roulage critique t2 (t2 > t1) au bout duquel la variable R atteint une valeur critique R2 telle que R2=R1+ΔR, ΔR étant une valeur représentative d'un accroissement critique de écrasement de l'appui, puis (iii) à faire correspondre audit temps de roulage t2 une distance d2 avec d2=V.(t2-t0), représentant une prédiction de ladite distance maximale de roulage.
