Abstract

The invention relates to a welding device (1) and welding system comprising a power source (2), a control and/or regulating device (4), a welding torch (10), and a supply line (7), which connects the welding torch to a gas source (9). A control and/or regulating valve (6) is arranged inside the supply line, and this valve can, according to at least one parameter of the welding process, be controlled by the control and/or regulating device (4) in accordance with a set value of a quantity of gas to be supplied to a welding process. The control and/or regulating device (4) is designed for determining the set value of the gas quantity by at least the one parameter of the welding process and/or by operational settings on the welding device (1). A device (27), which is calibrated for a specific gas and which is provided for measuring the flow rate is arranged inside the extension of the supply line (7) while, in particular, being integrated in the welding device (1). In addition, said device (27) is provided for determining an actual value of the quantity of gas, whereby the control and/or regulating device (4) is designed for correcting the set and/or actual value while at least using data of physical characteristic values of usable gases (8) with regard to the gas used for calibrating, said data being stored in the control and/or regulating device (4).
