Surprisingly enough comparatively small amounts of heat are required to obtain pain alleviation that is considerable for a time. However improbable the invention is thus efficient.

By heating (in for instance seething water) the flat bags above the melting temperature of the sodium acetate trihydrate this is transformed from its crystallin form to fluid form that then remain even if the temperature is lowered. The fluid phase is then stable until crystallization is initiated with a special initiating device in the shape of a piece of sheet metal.

Abstract

L'invention concerne une culotte (1) présentant une poche avant (2) et arrière (3), pour le changement d'emplacement de sachets plastiques (4, 5) émetteurs de chaleur remplis d'une solution de trihydrate d'acétate de sodium, et un dispositif initiateur pour la cristallisation calogène de ladite solution. Ces sachets plastiques sont constitués de deux couches (membranes) plastiques soudées l'une contre l'autre le long des bords. Ces couches plastiques sont en outre reliées par des points ou des lignes de soudure, de sorte que la communication fluidique entre les parties d'un espace est maintenue pour une cristallisation dans l'ensemble de cet espace. Selon un agencement plus fréquent des soudures, lesdits sachets (4, 5) sont plus fins par exemple au niveau des bords, de manière à obtenir une apparence plus discrète ainsi qu'une flexibilité et une aptitude au pliage supérieures, même lorsque le trihydrate d'acétate de sodium a pris une forme cristalline.
