Definitions

  • the invention relates to a filter press for the filtration of suspensions with at least one package of horizontally oriented filter elements mounted in a press frame, a filter chamber being arranged between adjacent filter elements, which is bounded at least on one side by a band-shaped filter medium, and the package of filter elements starting from from a filtration position, in which the filter elements are pressed against one another in a sealing manner, can be transferred into an open position, in which adjacent filter elements are at a distance from each other in the vertical direction.
  • Such filter presses are generally known under the name “press filter machines” and allow fully automatic operation of a filter press, since the filter cake in the open position of the packet of filter elements can be discharged by a feed movement of the filter belt passing through the packet and falls into special collecting devices on the side next to the filter press ,
  • the known filter presses exist both in versions in which a filter chamber is only delimited on one side by the filter medium, and in versions in which each filter chamber is delimited both upwards and downwards by the filter medium. Abstract
