Abstract

L'invention concerne un système d'avertissement de collisions (32) destiné à un véhicule (30) et comprenant un transducteur à ultrasons (34) et un système de traitement (58). Ce dernier (58) est couplé électriquement audit transducteur à ultrasons (34) en vue d'en recevoir des signaux à ultrasons. Ce système de traitement (58) renferme un programme conçu pour être exécuté par ledit système (58). Lors de son exécution, le programme est élaboré pour produire des instructions visant d'abord à filtrer les parties non souhaitées du signal ultrasonore correspondant aux ondes sonores n'émanant pas d'un certain transducteur du véhicule (30) afin d'engendrer un signal ultrasonore filtré, puis à déterminer une distance et une rapidité relative entre le véhicule (30) et au moins un objet se trouvant à l'intérieur de la gamme de distances à partir du véhicule en fonction du signal ultrasonore filtré, ensuite à déterminer un niveau de gravité du moment d'une condition externe au sein de la gamme de distances en fonction de la rapidité relative et de la distance, et enfin à commander la sortie d'un système de collisions (38) ou à commander un dispositif de sécurité (214) en fonction du niveau de gravité du moment.
