Abstract

The invention refers to metallic coroniform caps for glass and metallic bottles containing liquid and viscous substances; the caps have cogged lower edges (1). The invention objective is creation of a coroniform cap that can be safely opened without any opening accessory. The essence of the invention is that while cutting the cap plate out of metal sheet a certain section of intermediate waste is not cut and removed, but is left with the plate to form a tab (2) (or 2 tabs). The stamping machine extends the corrugation of the cogged section onto the tabs, thus providing them with rigidity necessary for opening. The bottle is opened by exerting pressure on the tab from underneath with forefinger and removing the cap. The tabs may be arranged at 75 °, 90 ° or 180° angle to each other.

Description

CROWN CAP FOR BOTTLES
1. TECHNICAL FIELD
The invention refers to metallic coroniform caps for glass and metallic bottles designed for storing liquid and viscous substances. These caps have gaskets and 21 edge cogs that provide heπnetical sealing of bottles through mechanical squeezing and friction.
2. BACKGROUND ART
At date, two types of the above mentioned coroniform. caps are manufactured. One of them is based on prototype OCT 18-85-82 (SU) and has a gasket and sealing edge dents arranged on one level. The disadvantage of this type is that such caps cannot be removed without a bottle-opener. The other type also has a gasket, but unlike the former one its sealing edge dents are not arranged on one level. Instead, the sealing dents of several adjacent cogs form a thread that is screwed over the helical furrow on the bottleneck thus sealing the bottle. To open the bottle, the cap should be griped with one hand and the bottle with the other, and a rotatory movement be effected. With this type, the 21 sharp cogs can easily cut the palm if the opening is attempted by a child or the grip on the cap is not firm enough, or the rotation is made in wrong direction.
3. DISCLOSURE OF INVENTION
The proposal subject implies a metallic cogged coronifor cap with a gasket, which is additionally furnished with 1 or 2 rigid metallic tabs extending from the cap edge. By pushing the tab upward with the side of forefinger the bottle is opened safely and easily.

5. BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
The caps can be made of the same material used for production of regular caps, i.e. metallic sheet of similar thickness. The metal-cutting blades on existing machine tools are to be modified to form the flat image. The completed product is obtained dirough regular stamping machine tools with molds re-shaped to produce corrugation on the tabs as well. Further, a synthetic gasket is inserted in the cap. The bottles are capped by mechanically squeezing the dents to the bottleneck. In order to increase the width and the length of the tab we can to replace the sheet cutouts far from each other on the metallic sheet. We can seam the edges of the tab in order to open it safely.
6. INDUSTRIAL APPLICABILITY
The industrial applicability of the cap does not present any essential difficulties for the following reasons:
A. To manufacture the cap, no special brands of metal are required; the existing brands are fully sufficient;
B. No alteration of cog form, length, width, and also depth of dents is required;
C. The caps can be fitted with regular gaskets to provide hermetical sealing, and therefore no special new materials are required for production of such;
D. The physical features of the gasket are unchanged and their tliickness and diameter remain the same.
E. The number of operations for manufacturing the caps as well as those' for capping the bottles does not increase;
F. The cap can be utilized on regular bottles used worldwide, to which no alterations are required;
G. The types and properties of bottled substances are not limited;
H. Exterior decoration and coloring are applicable to berth cap and tabs.

Claims

1. Coroniform cap for bottles, with gasket: is characterized that it has an additional rigid corrugated tab extending from edge.
2. Coroniform cap according to Claim 1: is cliaracterized that it has two tabs arranged at 75° angle to each other.
3. Coroniform cap according to Claim 1: is characterized that it has two tabs arranged at 90° angle to each other.
4. Coroniform cap according to Claim 1 : is characterized that it lias two tabs arranged at 180° angle to each other.
