Abstract

Cette invention a trait à un dispositif et au procédé permettant de décontaminer en toute sécurité, efficacement et facilement des flux de déchets, notamment des flux de déchets d'origine dentaire. Le flux contaminé (30), pouvant notamment renfermer des métaux toxiques tels que du mercure, entre en contact avec l'unité selon cette invention (31, 70) qui filtre les contaminants à la fois physiquement et chimiquement en une seule opération. Cette unité (31, 70) contient une résine fixant le contaminant (34) et un filtre mécanique (14) permettant d'extraire les formes solubles et insolubles du contaminant. Ce dispositif et le procédé correspondant permettent de ramener les contaminants à un taux satisfaisant aux exigences de l'agence de régulation en matière de métaux toxiques. Ils permettent également de procéder à une manipulation et à un transport sûrs de l'unité contaminée (31, 70).
