Abstract

L'invention concerne un dispositif anti-infectieux comprenant généralement une formulation productrice d'agent oxydant contenue dans une partie au moins de ce dispositif, lequel est conçu pour produire un agent oxydant anti-infectieux par voie électrolytique. Ce dispositif comprend au moins un élément de cathode et/ou un élément d'anode situés dans cette partie de dispositif, et permet d'électrolyser ladite formulation productrice d'agent oxydant, d'où la production de cet agent oxydant anti-infectieux par voie électrolytique. Une source d'alimentation est connectée électriquement aux éléments de cathode et d'anode de façon que le courant passe entre ces éléments de cathode et d'anode. Dans un mode de réalisation, la formulation productrice d'agent oxydant contient un solide dispersé dans une paroi polymérique de ce dispositif. Dans un mode de réalisation préféré, les éléments de cathode et d'anode sont entièrement logés dans la paroi polymérique du dispositif, même si dans certains modes de réalisation, ils peuvent être partiellement logés dans la paroi polymérique dudit dispositif. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, cette formulation productrice d'agent oxydant renferme une solution contenue dans une chambre du dispositif. Les éléments de cathode et d'anode se trouvent à l'intérieur de la chambre, en contact avec cette solution. La substance anti-infectieuse produite par voie électrolytique se présente de préférence sous forme d'iode élémentaire. Dans un mode de réalisation, la formulation productrice d'agent oxydant contient un iodure oxydé au niveau de l'élément d'anode. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, ladite formulation productrice d'agent oxydant contient un iodate réduit au niveau de l'élément de cathode. De préférence, un donneur de protons est également présent dans la formulation productrice d'agent oxydant contenant ce iodate.
