Abstract

La présente invention concerne un instrument (20) et un procédé permettant de déterminer une caractéristique donnée d'un échantillon d'un fluide biologique (sang) ou d'un témoin. Cet instrument comprend une première source (64) conçue pour émettre un rayonnement à travers une partie de l'échantillon, et une seconde source (56, 58) conçue pour fournir de la chaleur à l'échantillon et le maintenir ainsi à la température voulue. La seconde source comprend une plaque (58) présentant des première et seconde faces généralement opposées. Cette plaque (58) est constituée d'un matériau non opaque. La première source (64) est montée (65) sur la première face de la plaque (58). L'échantillon est placé sur la seconde face de la plaque (58) au cours de la détermination de la caractéristique. Le rayonnement traverse le matériau non opaque pour arriver dans l'échantillon, ce rayonnement étant ensuite détecté pour déterminer ladite caractéristique.
