Abstract

L'invention concerne un système de traitement (10) de gaz d'échappement possédant un axe central (32, 40), une enveloppe extérieure (12), un substrat (14) et un support (22) de substrat. L'enveloppe extérieure (12) comporte une surface intérieure (30) définissant une zone intérieure. Le substrat (14) présente une première extrémité (34), une deuxième extrémité (36) et une surface extérieure (38) s'étendant entre la première et la deuxième extrémités (34, 36). Ce substrat (14) est placé dans la zone intérieure de l'enveloppe intérieure (12), de sorte que la surface extérieure (38) de ce substrat (14) est déplacée d'une distance par rapport à la surface intérieure (30) de l'enveloppe extérieure (12). Le support (22) du substrat est constitué par un matériau intumescent (62) et par un treillis de fils (60) accouplé au matériau intumescent (62) et est placé de façon à s'étendre à plat entre l'enveloppe extérieure (12) et le substrat (14).
