Abstract

L'invention concerne un capteur de pH et un procédé permettant de contrôler le niveau de pH d'un milieu en fonction des caractéristiques d'un matériau chromatique sensible au pH utilisé dans le capteur de pH. Le capteur de pH comprend au moins un logement présentant au moins une surface transparente, un ensemble de circuits photosensible, par exemple, une DEL, et un photodétecteur à l'intérieur du logement, et un matériau chromatique sensible au pH qui recouvre au moins une portion de la surface transparente; lequel matériau présente la caractéristique de se saturer lorsque un niveau de pH ambiant atteint un niveau prédéterminé, de telle sorte que lorsque le matériau chromatique sensible au pH est saturé, l'ensemble de circuits photosensible détecte une intensité de lumière incidente différente de celle qui est observée lorsque le matériau chromatique sensible au pH n'est pas saturé. Au fur et à mesure que le niveau de pH d'un milieu sous contrôle permanent, par exemple des conteneurs béton de stockage contenant des réactifs, etc. diminue, le matériau sensible au pH déposé sur la surface transparente du logement se sature progressivement en ions d'hydrogène et il devient achromatique. Lorsque le niveau de pH atteint le niveau prédéterminé, le matériau sensible au pH n'est plus capable d'absorber une quelconque lumière émise par la DEL, de telle sorte que la lumière est renvoyée au photodétecteur.
