Abstract

The invention relates to an aircraft (10) for taking off and landing in a substantially vertical manner. Said aircraft comprises a fuselage (12) with a drive unit (40) and an uplift device (14) mounted preferably on top of the fuselage (12). Said uplift device (14) comprises: at least one rotor assembly (85) comprising a large number of rotor blades (88), which are mounted so that they can rotate about an axis that is substantially vertical at take-off and landing and which are rotated by the drive unit (40) to achieve uplift by conveying a current of air downwards; and a substantially stationary exit guide vane assembly (90), provided beneath the rotor assembly (85), comprising a large number of exit guide vanes (92).
