Abstract
A disinfection cloth with a bottom layer (2) consisting of a moisture-absorbant material and a top layer (3) made of a liquid-tight material on the surface of which a grip pattern is provided. The grip pattern is designed with knobs (4) which are placed so as to produce visual information in the form of words and/or figures and/or designs and/or symbols.
Description
A two-layered disinfection tissue with improved gripping charachteristics
The present invention relates to a disinfection cloth for use on the skin or on equipment, this cloth having a grip pattern which also serves as information text, picture or logo.
In many circumstances, the need arises to disinfect the skin, surfaces, equipment or the like. People who, several times a day, use moist paper towels to that effect will often develop skin irritation with dried and cracked skin and eventually sores. This problem can be solved by protecting the hands against contact with the disinfectant. In addition, it is usually difficult to get a good handgrip on the disinfection cloths and it is therefore too easy to lose them.
US patent 2,053,565 describes a powder pad for cosmetics which presents Mormation in the form of a pattern which is raised relative to the pad surface.
The object of the present invention is to provide a disinfection cloth which can be fiirnly gripped by the hand and on which the grip pattern provides an iri&rmation.
A further object of the invention is to provide a grip pattern for the hand on the disinfection cloth, which also carries an information.
This is achieved by providing a set of small knobs which protrude from the main plane on the top surface of the cloth and are given a contact face which provided great friction, the knobs being shaped so as to have sides which are approximately at right angles to the top surface of the cloth. Further, the contact face of the knobs is of a shape substantially different from that of the sides, as the grip pattern for the hand is obtained as a combination of the friction effect and of the transition mello the sides and the contact face.
Further details of the invention appear from the following description of a preferred embodiment of the invention with reference to the illustrations. Figure la, b, c and d shows a cross section of the disinfection cloth of the invention with the grip pattern.
Figure 2 is a view which illustrates the structure of the grip pattern on the disinfection cloth.
Figure 3 shows an alternative structure for the grip pattern on the disinfection cloth. The invention concerns a wiping cloth consisting of a cloth 1 composed of two layers, a bottom layer 2 made of a material which can absorb and release moisture and which is impregnated with a disinfectant. A top layer 3 is made of a plastic-like and liquid-proof material. On the side of the top layer 3 which is facing away from the bottom layer are provided knobs 4 which are raised from the plane of the top layer 3. The knobs 4 may have various shapes, as illustrated in figure la, b, c and d.
Each knob 4 consists of a contact face 5 which comes into contact with the user's fingers and which increases the quality of the grip, and of sides 6. Figure la illustrates a design where the contact face 5 is considerably larger than the sides 6, this design resulting in a knob 4 with a large contact face 5. The surface of the contact face 5 may have a variety of shapes and textures designed to give a firm grip, for example a concave shape (fig. la) or a rough and uneven texture (fig. lb).
An alternative design for the knob 4 may be as illustrated in figures lc and
Id where the contact face 5 is considerably smaller than the sides 6. A larger contact surface for the user's finger is obtained by providing several knobs 4 next to each other. They can be combined in groups where each knob 4 has a different height than that of the neighbour and it is the group which provides a concave surface, as in the example illustrated in figure Id.
The knobs 4 can be placed in patterns so as to combine into letters or designs which, in addition to functioning as an improved griping surface for the user's fingers, can also produce visual information such as publicity. Cf. figures 2 and 3. The design can also be combined with colours.
Claims
1. Disinfection cloth with a non-absorbant top layer (3) and a bottom layer (2) which is moisture-absorbant and impregnated with a disinfectant, characterized in that the top layer (3) is provided with a set of knobs (4) which are raised relative to the main plane of the top layer (3) and are provided with a contact face (5) with high friction, the knobs (4) having a shape with sides (6) approximately at right angles to the top layer (3), and the contact face (5) being of a design which is considerably different from the sides (6), the grip pattern for the user's hand being obtained by the combination of the f iction provided and the transition between the side (6) and the contact face (5).
2. The disinfection cloth of claim 1, characterized in that the contact face (5) has a concave shape.
3. The disinfection cloth of either claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the contact face (5) is uneven and rough.
4. The disinfection cloth of either claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the knobs (4) have a contact face (5) which is considerably smaller than the sides (6).
5. The disinfection cloth of claim 1, characterized in that the grip pattern is shaped like words and/or figures and/or designs and/or symbols.
