Abstract

L'invention concerne un cathéter d'ablation et d'imagerie des tissus à structure d'électrode poreuse comprenant une région intérieure conçue pour recevoir un milieu conducteur, et un tube de forme allongée présentant une extrémité de tube distale s'étendant à l'intérieur de la région, ainsi qu'un ensemble transducteur ultrasonore logé dans l'extrémité de tube distale. La structure d'électrode poreuse comprend une région intérieure qui reçoit un milieu ionique. L'énergie RF peut ensuite être transportée de façon ionique à travers les pores se trouvant dans la structure d'électrode et dans les tissus. L'ensemble transducteur ultrasonore peut imager à travers l'extrémité de tube distale et la structure d'électrode poreuse étant donné que celles-ci sont transparentes aux ultrasons. L'ensemble transducteur ultrasonore est scellé dans l'extrémité tubulaire distale et donc isolé des effets corrosifs inverses et thermiques du milieu ionique.
