Abstract

Design of the siphon is for water holding devices, such as sanitary, kitchen, bathroom, lavatories, laundry and other sinks, allows attachments of the siphon through an optional extension pipe to either sanitary appliances or a sewer line. The siphon consists of a body (1) and connector (2). The body contains an extension pipe (12) curved up, and finished with a straight segment (14) symmetrical axis of which parallels that of the extension pipe (4), and ends (16) and (17) of the extension pipes (4) and (12) all positioned in the same level. The connector (2) is a tube with an external thread (18) for attachment to sanitary appliances and internal thread (19) for attachment to the extension pipes (4) and (12).

Description

Siphon
The subject of invention is a siphon for kitchen, laundry, bathroom, washstands and sanitary appliances.
Known siphons contain a body with extension pipes. In known siphons intention of extension pipes is univocally defined. The extension pipe, through which water from a sanitation appliance enters the siphon is positioned vertically, and the extension pipe through which water comes out of the siphon is perpendicular to it.
Known siphons have this draw back, that when they are installed to sinks and other water holding devices through a vertical extension pipe (inlet pipe) and to a sewage line through a horizontal one (outlet pipe) basically let the discharged water through without any filtering out of the debris.
The siphon only provides a air lock that prevents the sewer gases to back up.
Objective of this invention is a design that will allow certain size of debris to be caught and deposited in the removable refuse receptacle while at the same time still provide a air lock for the gas.
According to this invention, the siphon contains a body and a connector for attachment of the sanitary and water holding appliances to one of the siphon's extension pipes. The body has one extension pipe curved up and ending with a straight segment, whose symmetrical axis is parallel to the symmetrical axis of the other extension pipe, and ends of both pipes are positioned at the same level. One of the extension pipes is placed eccentrically in a ring, and connected to it in a way that they have a common internally shared exterior wall, that shares a common thickness of walls.
To the side of the ring and the side of the extension pipe is attached the second extension pipe. The ring is closed from atop with a cylindrical plane created by the second extension pipe and with a plane coming down toward it. The wall of the second extension pipe has oblong cuttings of various lengths and the widths increasing towards its ends situated in a refuse receptacle, connected disjointly with the ring.
The siphon according to the invention is shown in a working example on a drawing, where FIG. 1 represents the siphon longitudinal section in a first option of connecting it through the connector to a sink or the water holding apparatus (not shown on the drawing) and FIG. 2 represents the siphon's side view and the second option of connecting it through the connector to the sink or another water holding device (not shown on the drawing).
According to the drawing the siphon consists of the body 1 and the connector 2. The body 1 contains the ring 3 and a extension pipe placed eccentrically 4 and connected to it in a way that the have common internally shared exterior wall 5 of constant thickness. The ends of the extension pipe 4 protrudes from the ring 3. In the wall of the extension pipe 4 there are oblong cuttings 6 of various lengths and the widths increasing towards its end. The end of the extension pipe 4 is situated in a refuse receptacle 7 , connected with a thread 8 to the ring 3. Tightness of the connection is secured by a washer 9. Longitudinal thickenings 10 , placed symmetrically on a periphery of the receptacle 7, and the collar 11 on the ring 3 facilitate both attachments and disconnection of the receptacle 7 and the ring 3. To the side of the ring 3 and extension pipe 4 is attached curved up extension pipe 12. From the top the ring 3 is closed by the cylindrical plane created by the extension pipe 12 and by the plane 13 coming down toward the ring 3. The extension pipe 12 ends with the straight segment 14 with the thread 15, the symmetrical axis of which parallels that of the extension pipe 4. The end of 16 the extension pipe 12 is positioned at the same level as the end 17 of the extension pipe 4. The connector 2 represents a tube with the external thread 18 for attachment to the sink or water holding apparatus ( not shown on drawing) and internal thread 19 for attachment to the extension pipe 4 or extension pipe 12.
The connector 2 is always attached to this extension pipe which connects the siphon to the sink or the water holding apparatus. During the work of the siphon water flows between the oblong cuttings 6 in the pipe 4, carrying with it solid refuse particles which are efficiently filtered by those cuttings and collect in the refuse receptacle 7. In order to remove dirt particles, one needs to open the refuse receptacle 7, without the need of disconnecting the siphon from the sink or water holding apparatus.
