Abstract

A surfical tool that can be used for both cauterizing and cutting during a surgical procedure. The surgical tool may include a tip formed entirely from a conductive diamond material, which includes an edge for cutting. The tip is configured to be in electrical communication with a contact electrode passing through a body of the surgical tool. An electrical current may be passed through the contact electrode to the tip for cauterizing.
