Abstract

The invention relates to a powder metallurgy produced valve body exhibiting high thermal and wear resistance and having the following composition by weight: 0.5 % to 2.0 % C; 5.0 % to 16 % Mo; 0.2 % to 1.0 % P; 0.1 % to 1.4 % Mn; 0 % to 5 % Cr; 0 % to 5 % S; 0 % to 7 % W; 0 % to 3 % V and < 2 % of other elements, the remainder being Fe. The invention also relates to a valve fitted with said valve body.
