Abstract

A conveyor system for conveying and/or sorting items, wherein the conveyor system comprises a plurality of conveyor units (52) which are coupled together to form a chain of conveyor units. The chain of conveyor units is adapted to run along a conveyor path, and wherein at least some of the conveyor units comprise pick-up means (55) for picking up current from a power conducting rail (53) that extends along at least part of the conveyor path. Power transmitting means (57) are provided between two successive conveyor units (52). The power conducting rail (53) comprises a guiding rail (56) for guiding the pick-up means (55) into the power conducting rail (53). A holding member (58) for connecting the pick-up means (55) to the conveyor unit (52) is provided.
